IBC Solutions for Every Industry
Intermediate Bulk Containers are the backbone of liquid and granular material handling across dozens of industries. Here are the sectors we serve most.
Agriculture
Farmers and agricultural operations use IBCs for storing and transporting fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and irrigation water. Our food-grade reconditioned totes are ideal for organic liquid concentrates and livestock water supply systems.
Food & Beverage
From juice concentrates and cooking oils to syrups and sauces, the food industry relies on FDA-compliant IBCs for safe bulk liquid storage. We supply thoroughly cleaned, food-grade totes that meet the strictest hygiene standards.
Chemical Manufacturing
Chemical producers need containers rated for hazardous and non-hazardous materials alike. Our chemically cleaned IBCs meet DOT and EPA requirements for safe storage and transportation of industrial chemicals, solvents, and reagents.
Pharmaceuticals
Pharmaceutical companies require ultra-clean containers for water-for-injection, excipients, and API intermediates. We offer pharmaceutical-grade reconditioned IBCs with full traceability documentation and cleaning certifications.
Water Treatment
Municipal and private water treatment facilities depend on IBCs for storing treatment chemicals like sodium hypochlorite, coagulants, and pH adjusters. We supply corrosion-resistant totes built to handle aggressive chemical environments.
Automotive
Auto manufacturers and repair shops use IBCs for coolants, lubricants, brake fluid, and parts-washing solvents. Our reconditioned containers provide a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to purchasing new drums and tanks.
Construction
Construction sites use IBCs for concrete admixtures, dust suppressants, fuel storage, and on-site water supply. Our rugged, cage-reinforced totes withstand harsh jobsite conditions while keeping materials safely contained.
Cosmetics & Personal Care
Cosmetics manufacturers store raw ingredients like glycerin, fragrances, and surfactants in bulk IBCs. We provide meticulously cleaned containers that prevent cross-contamination and preserve product integrity.
Brewing & Distilling
Craft breweries and distilleries use IBCs for grain-neutral spirits, flavoring syrups, and cleaning solutions. Our food-grade reconditioned totes offer a budget-friendly way to scale production without compromising quality.
Janitorial & Cleaning
Cleaning supply companies store concentrated detergents, sanitizers, and degreasers in IBCs for efficient bulk dispensing. We supply reliable, leak-tested containers that keep your supply chain flowing smoothly.

The IBC Lifecycle
Every IBC tank has the potential for multiple lives. Our closed-loop recycling process keeps containers in productive use for years — reducing waste, conserving resources, and saving money for businesses across the region.
Manufacturing
New IBCs are manufactured from HDPE plastic bottles and galvanized steel cages. Each container requires approximately 33 lbs of virgin plastic and significant energy to produce.
First Use & Collection
After their initial fill, many IBCs are discarded — but not with us. We collect used totes from manufacturers, distributors, and warehouses across the Mid-Atlantic.
Inspection & Cleaning
Every IBC undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection. We check structural integrity, valve condition, and contamination levels. Then each unit is triple-rinsed and pressure-washed to exacting standards.
Reconditioning & Resale
Containers that pass inspection receive new valves, gaskets, and labels as needed. They re-enter the market at 40-60% less than new — and the cycle repeats up to 5+ times per IBC.
Where Baltimore IBC Recycling Fits In
We operate at the heart of the IBC circular economy. Our Fairfield Road facility is the central hub where used containers are collected, assessed, cleaned, reconditioned, and returned to productive use. For totes that have reached end-of-life, we responsibly disassemble and recycle every component — cage, bottle, valve, and pallet — ensuring maximum material recovery and minimum landfill impact.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying, selling, and recycling IBC totes with us.
What is an IBC tote and what are they used for?
An Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) is a reusable industrial container designed for the transport and storage of bulk liquids and granulated substances. Standard IBCs hold 275 or 330 gallons and consist of an HDPE plastic bottle inside a galvanized steel cage, mounted on a pallet base. They're used across industries including agriculture, food & beverage, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and construction.
How much do used IBC totes cost?
Prices for used IBC totes vary based on condition, grade, and size. Standard 275-gallon used IBCs start around $75, while food-grade and reconditioned units range from $130–$220. Stainless steel IBCs are premium products starting around $650. We offer volume discounts for orders of 10+ units. Contact us for a personalized quote based on your specific needs.
Do you offer delivery, and what areas do you serve?
Yes, we offer full delivery service across the Mid-Atlantic region. Our primary service area includes Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel, Howard, Harford, Carroll, and Cecil counties with same-day or next-day delivery. We also serve Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, Delaware, and Southern Pennsylvania within 2–3 business days. For locations outside our standard area, we can arrange freight shipping for bulk orders.
How does your IBC buyback program work?
Our buyback program is simple: contact us with details about your surplus IBCs (quantity, size, previous contents, and condition), and we'll provide a quote within 24 hours. If you accept, we schedule pickup at your location — typically within the same week. We buy IBCs of all grades and conditions, from clean food-grade totes to heavily used industrial containers. Payment is issued promptly after pickup and inspection.
Can used IBCs be certified food-grade after reconditioning?
Yes, under the right conditions. IBCs that originally held food-grade materials and pass our rigorous inspection process can be cleaned to FDA 21 CFR standards using our dedicated food-grade cleaning line. Each reconditioned food-grade IBC receives a cleaning certificate documenting the process. However, IBCs that previously held non-food chemicals cannot be re-certified for food use — safety is our top priority.
What happens to IBCs that can't be reconditioned?
IBCs that have reached end-of-life are fully disassembled and recycled component by component. The HDPE plastic bottle is shredded and sent to plastic recyclers for reprocessing. The steel cage is sent to metal recyclers. Valves, gaskets, and fittings are sorted and recycled separately. Even the wooden or plastic pallet base is recycled. Our material recovery rate exceeds 95%, ensuring minimal landfill impact.
Is there a minimum order for buying IBCs?
No minimum order required. We're happy to sell a single IBC or a truckload of 50+. That said, we do offer volume discounts starting at 10 units, with additional savings at 25 and 50+ units. Whether you're a homeowner looking for a rain barrel solution or a manufacturer needing a recurring supply, we'll work with you.
How do I know if a used IBC is safe for my application?
Every IBC we sell undergoes a multi-point inspection covering structural integrity, valve function, gasket condition, and residual contamination. We provide documentation of previous contents (when available) and cleaning procedures for each unit. For sensitive applications like food storage or chemical handling, we'll help match you with the appropriate grade and provide relevant certifications. When in doubt, our team is always available to advise.
